Know What Your Rate Is
Before you can lower your credit card rate, you need to know what you are currently paying. Many people do not have this information, but it can be easily located on your credit card statement.
It is important that you monitor your rate frequently because you may be unaware that your credit card has raised your APR. This can happen from late payments or a change in the prime rate, it’s easy to miss it and can cost you hundreds of dollars per year. Make sure you know the rate you are paying and the exact cause of the increase – and dispute any unreasonable increases if necessary.
